Mike,
I remember the day that you were on your way back to SoCal from San Francisco. We drank green tea, played Scrabble, and had a few laughs.
I spend many moments cherishing those memories and holding onto them through the days.
The morning you left, you stopped before getting into the car, thought about it, turned around, and hugged me. At that moment, you also said, "I love you."
I was in shock to hear this as it had been so long and it was all I needed for the next year.
I felt as though I had just received the largest amount of joy a person could imagine. I jumped up and down on the way to my apartment and smiled the entire day. I think that my face actually hurt as I was going to bed that night.
Thank you for this gift as I know life was difficult for you on so many levels. I dreamt that we would see through this darkness together and experience the warmth that we all deserve on this planet.
I love you so very much Mike. I think about you all of the time; now dreaming about you often.
Wherever you are, I hope that you are receiving my prayers & meditations as you were a teacher to me. You deserve to feel love in your heart and also your thoughts.
Take care of yourself and I will make sure to keep an eye on Martin whenever I can! Dad and I are going to see him in December! Kate is a lovely mother and glad she is in Martin's life!
Love you brother and you are the light that shines now in different form.
with warmth and affection,
Mare Mare
